MadManJaMeS
The central locking on my 98 focus is playing up. Sometimes when i unlock the drivers door, it doesn't do the rest. I either have to slam the door a few times or just wait, 5 mins or so. Any ideas ?
isetta
on my 2001 focus I had similar problems and problems with the locks clicking on and off when I drove down the road. some days it did it , somedays not. I reckon you need to get inside the door and get to the switch thing on the lock to clean up contacts etc. I could never face doing it and just lived with the intermittent problem. probably easy to fix once you get in there. MadManJaMeS
I've sprayed some WD40 inside the lock hopefully it sorts it. If not i'll the door panel off over the weekend n take a look
Rs2k
On the early focus they have micro switches inside the lock and motor. These become brittle and break after time. I would strip it down and check their working correctly. On/off - make/break I think they do so simple to test.
