Hi guys and gals I wanting to put a mk 2 ford focus engine in to a mk 1 focus dose any one know if the engine brackets from a mk 2 focus will fit in to a mk 1 focus or known if anyone makes custom part for it currently i have a 1.8 diesel in but i want a durotorque 1.8 back in

Good luck doing this one. There are so many complex sensors on a MK2 engine and computers that control it I doubt you'll be able to achieve it I'm afraid.

If it can be done i'll eat my shoe, but as cars get newer they require so much more than just some fuel and a spark!

As above.
The cars are so dissimilar that a swap of that nature would be a major effort.
Tbh it would be cheaper either to get a brand new mk1 block or upgrade to a mk2 car.

If you were to add up time, hassle and parts....then no it isn't possible.

Theoretically it could be done but as nearly every Mk1 is worth less than £1,000 these days it's not economical. Also, why downgrade the car. You don't specify which Diesel you have in the MK1. If it is the 1.8 TDCi (115) then the only models in the range quicker were the ST170 and RS. Even then the ST170 was slower in gear at speed.

Get the diesel chipped and you're sorted.
