Leaking engine Coolant

Hoping someone can help.

I have noticed recently that I have had to top up my engine coolant and antifreeze quite frequently considering I have only owned the car for over a month now. I drove my car last Friday for roughly 20 miles after finishing work and parked up somewhere for a couple of hours. Upon my return I noticed that my car had leaked engine coolant onto the floor then once I checked my coolant level- it was empty. I have attached the below image in hope that someone with more knowledge than myself will be able to assist me

Regards

Hey there. I have a zetec mk6 1.4 that did this. turned out my water pump was to blame. changed that with ease. this depends on your model as after 06 I believe they change the water pump to run off the timing belt rather than the auxilatdrive belt.

To check the water pump look under the car and run your hands around the pump pulley. if liquid is around this area a new pump it is. if there aren't any signs near there then I would check the pipes coming off the expansion tank. also make sure the radiator itelsef isn't leaking. these are the easiest checks and free ;)

Hope this helps. if not reply and I will help further.

Cheers

Ryan
