SzabiKa
It is there since I bought the car, but now reached my "triggering" point. When I start up the car from cold, some noise squealing comes from the belt/alternator/water pump area. When the engine starts to warm up, it goes away and stays silent. I know, it can be the water pump, servo pump, generator or the auxiliary tensioner. Any idea/tip how do I figure out which one is the screaming part? delboy
Quote you can buy a belt dressing spray but to be honest i would have the belt replaced as that sounds like the problem your having dont spray any lubricant like wd40 on it as you will make things worse. start by replacing the belt if that dont work then the tensioner or do both at the same time
WES180
Is there any evidence of water dripping onto the belt? This happened in my wifes Fiat Grande Punto and it turned out there was a Fiat fix for it. The drain pipe on the bulk head from the scuttle panel was causing water to drip onto the belt and squeal for a bit until it span the water out. They revised the pipe with an angled version to divert the water away solving the problem.
SzabiKa
Cheers guys. yep, I think I am going to start with the belt and tensioner ...pfff.. nearly £100 again. I found the tensioner for £68 on eBay. service quote was £180 for this part. this car costs me a lot so far
SzabiKa
Does anyone know, about the difference between Ka and StreetKa belt tensioner? On the pictures looks identical , but the price has a big difference. Part number, anyone?

Yes, I got replaced the belt tensioner, belt and water pump. I got all parts very cheap from eBay , local service fitted for good price. No noise anymore, but now is the clutch out on the way, also the HCV dead again after 6 weeks. I think I have to buy the genuine Ford one this time... never ending story :(
SzabiKa
Ah, just for info: belt tensioner: both bearings were totally destroyed.... water pump: it had plastic propellers in it and was half destroyed.... 60k miles in the car, and the fault list is endless. Still love her, very very fun to drive, but why??? why am I doing this one with myself??? Can I have 30 constant days when no problem with it??? My dad has an original Japanese Suzuki Ignis. The car is 14 years old, 155k miles in it. He using it all year around in any kind of weather (Hungary has cold winter with snow), never ever ever ever had any problem with it except one fault with servo which got sorted by dealer. Only regular oil/belt/plug/brake/tyre....
