[Jacky.C]
Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, not sure this post is in the right section or not, but I would be appreciated if anyone could help. I found a rectangular foam sticking out from the front towards the engine under the bonnet, anyone has any idea where is it suppose to be? [Jacky.C]
This is the foam that I was talking about, does anyone have the same problem?
[Jacky.C]
Apart from the foam, I just noticed there are other problems as well 1) the tap seems to be falling off, should I re-tape it? 2) there is some orange colour sludge/sticky oil on the parts, is that due to leakage or just normal dirt? Would be be appreciated if anyone could help! :)
mjt
Picture 1 : No idea where that's come from. I've had a look under the bonnet of our Ecoboost and can't see anything in that area. Picture 2 : I'd just trim off the surplus tape. The rest still looks ok. Picture 3 : That's just grease that's been applied to the bonnet lock mechanism. JW1982
The piece of foam belongs on top of the radiator / fan housing. The piece of foam has a self adhesive backing. Unfortunately as a result of heat the piece of foam often comes loose from the radiator / fan housing. A simple solution for this problem is re-installing the piece of foam at the correct location using a contact adhesive.
