Knocking noise ('05 Zetec C 5dr)

I have a Focus 2005 Zetec Climate 5dr hatchback and whenever I have 4 people in the car and I accelerate in gears 1,2 and 3 I hear a knocking noise coming from the rear of the car, not always but majority of the time when the cars full. It can also be heard if I change gear from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd viciously/badly like if I stomp the accelerate pedal to the floor as soon as I come up on the clutch (only tried this to see if I heard the noise which it did sometimes). Was wondering if anyone knew what this could possibly be, it sounds like its centered at the back, possibly under the car but its hard to tell exactly where its coming from. Any help would be appreciated.

i don't have the same car but might be worth just checking all the exhaust mountings+ rubbers first ... start with the simple / stupid things first before looking to deep . just a general look over might be staring you  in the face..

i had a knocking on the mk4 fiesta sounded like the engine was going to fall out  . turned out to be the gear shift stabilizer arm bush was dry . bolt out greased fixed..  mind it took a bit of finding ..

my first thought also was exhaust knocking
