JoJo2222
Hi, This past few days it's been hard to start the old 1.4 tdci in my 2003 diesel fusion.... battery is good as is cranking speed.... I always wait for the lights to go out on the dash before trying to start. Its not using any more fuel than usual and is completely fine once started and runs fine. I was wondering what could be causing this??????? any and all help appreciated thanks

jmurray01
Sounds like a simple case of burnt out glow plugs. Get a new set (Bosch) and that should fix it.
JoJo2222
Cheers guys for replying...... My problem seems to have stopped..... the only thing I did differently was turn ignition on and wait to hear a click from what sound to be the rear of the car and it now starts on the 1-3 turns of the engine. I have read up on the glie plugs and as I've no idea when they were charged I'll get round to doing them in the near future.... following on.... could the click I hear be fuel pump related?
