focus st3 rolling road set up

I'm fitting a de res rear silencer replacement pipe, rs plugs and k&n panel filter this week and getting my car serviced with cambelt and waterpump change next week. Would a rolling road set up benefit my car in anyway after this work is done?

None of that will affect performance, I assume you mean having it mapped?

Unsure of what you fully mean, If you are asking about mapping then none of the things listed will improve performance. If anything I would personally avoid the K&N filter and just replace it with an OEM paper one.

A stage one map will map a big difference to the car although I would recommend a off the shelf map as from what I've heard the MK2 Bosch ECU's can't be live programmed.

I'm aware that what I'm adding to the car will not improve my cars performance. (the de res pipe does make it sound good tho) Was just wondering if a rolling road tune and setup would improve anything. Not necessarily bhp just more efficient running. I know I'll need a remap to get bigger bhp output. But I just want everything given a good once over as It's a new car to me

Always thought a rolling road set up was basically a way of tunning performance cars? Or am I talking nonsense?? 🤔

You tune the car with a remap. It can either be a generic map (which uses the ECU learning to adapt to the car), or can be done on a rolling road and have it customised to your car.

Ah right. As previous cars I've had remapped have been done with just a laptop programme. Sorry for the confusion and being dull on this topic. Last car i had on a rolling road was a mk1 escort and that was 20 years ago
