Hi, I need a replacement battery for my 2009 Fiesta. Will any kind of battery do or do I need to be looking for a specific type?

EG; Will this £49 battery from Halfords do the trick?

THANKS

You normally need silver calcium batteries on Fords.

Have you checked under the bonnet to see what you've got now?

some people say that fords need ford silver calcium battery as the alternator charges at a higher voltage than other cars and that higher voltage will warp the plates of other battery types and battery will fail early . whereas as other places you read say that you don't need special batteries eg:

Anyway, I would normally find that Eurocarparts are cheaper than Halfords for batteries. How many years do you reckon you will keep the car?  this might influence whether you buy the cheapest or pay more for one that might last more years.
