Ben1989
Hi. I'm new to the forum. I'm currently having problems with my Ford Focus, 1.8 TDCi, Zetec S, 2009. I'll keep it basic, I start it in the morning or when left for a few hours and it smokes so much, the smoke smells bad with an hint of Diesel. Kangaroos quite violently through low gears 1-3, almost as if it's about to stall. Sounds like a tractor. After a 10 minute run, it's back to normal apart from still sounding like a tractor. Any ideas or help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, Ben.
alexp999
My first thought was glow plugs as it's okay when warm. What colour is smoke? Probably just unburnt diesel from incomplete combustion (cold cylinders)
Tomson
As above, change the plugs.
Ben1989
Thank you for the replies. One garage telling me EGR valve. Another garage checked EGR valve and says okay but could be injector problems?! Ben.
