xpeterpx
Sorry guys, silly question alert.. I have a 2004 1.6 Edge petrol and the engine has no obvious markings on it like the 'Zetec' etc. So what engine do I actually have - early Zetec / Duratec/ Austin Allegro Also, does having an 04 plate make mine a Mk1.5 or still a Mk1? Or does it come down to date of registration. Thanks as usual
Incontro
As yours is an Mk1/Mk1.5, it is the Zetec (Zetec-SE) Code Years Displacement (bore x stroke)/Type Power@rpm torque@rpm Compression (:1) 1.6 Zetec-S/SE 1998- 1,596 cc (1.596 L; 97.4 cu in) (79 mm (3.1 in)x81.4 mm (3.20 in)) I4 100 PS (74 kW; 99 hp)@6000 145 N·m (107 lb·ft)@4000 11

(Mk1) or in the headlight? (My1.5) can you take a pic of your engine or give us the reg plate?

I too find the question of what engine is fitted most confusing.

Devonboy
Etis states I have a 1.6L Zetec-S PFI (100PS) engine. When going to other websites, i.e. to order parts, after giving my VIN and Reg. number it always comes up as a Duratec engine. Haynes book of fables doesn't even show the Zetec engine in the manual. mike6688
I had an 04 reg 1.6 Edge, it was a Zetec-S engine. I would go by what Etis says if you've checked that. If you can post a pic of your front lights somebody could check whether it's a mk1 or mk1.5. I believe it may be a mk1.5 however judging by year and that it is an Edge spec. mike6688
Just to add these are Mk1.5 headlights (with the front indicator in the headlights) if you're indicator is in the bumper as previously mentioned it's a mk1.
