FoleyFord
I was just wondering if anyone had replaced their side lights with amber LED's, and what they look like? I am curious to see since google is offering little to no pictures. Also, is it legal?
Arwen
Technically I think it is legal, since I have seen many cars come with it as standard (Volvo's and some bmw's do I think?) And my motorbike came with them. However, from my experience it causes absolute confusion for other drivers. They simply think you are indicating and your indicator has got stuck on. To that end, I modified my bikes lights to use switchback LEDs.

DJ_Andy_M
Are we talking corner markers like what Volvo's have got, or the american style side lights in the indicators? Until my l got my 2015, I've run my indicators on 27watt/7watt dual filament bulbs with a modified bulb holder. You can have them as long as you leave the original sidelights in as well according to my MOT tester. My MOT tester also has said "they are additional lights and therefore not tested, and because they don't interfere with the operation of the indicator they can't be considered an MOT failure". I've also not had any issues with the plod, but I always carried my original bulb holders and their bulbs just in case. The things you have to worry about are stupid people not registering they aren't flashing, and the excuse you give to your insurance company if you do get involved in an accident.
