Should I declare a body kit to my insurance if it is a Ford one?

Hi,

I have a 1.4l 2009 Ford Fiesta Zetec and I feel like it looks a bit round without a body kit. I wanted to get the Zetec S body kit so it will still look standard, should I still tell my insurance company? I am with MoreThan. Would it cost less if I used a Ford kit or would they offer me the same price as for a third party kit?

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

In a word yes.

All modifications should be declared.

If they don't charge you, or only note it then fine, but you MUST tell them or you risk driving around being effectively uninsured.

Hi,

Anything that is non standard or different from the vehicle's original specification from when it left the factory would count as a modification. We would always advise that you declare any mods to your insurer.

Kind Regards

Dan
