Azzalee19
Hi guys, my focus mk1 tdci failed it's mot recently. One on a rear brake back plate. Does anybody k ow where I can source this part? E.g a link to the page. Also my exhaust failed , it's leaking through the bottom of my flex pipe. I have ordered a new one but have realised the flex and the cat are all one pipe. Can I just cut out the old one and clap a new one on?? Any help much appreciated.
stef123
You can get clamp on flexis but you need enough straight pipe either side in order to fit it. As for the backplate, either ford or see if a local factors can get pattern ones.
isetta
I thought it would be easy to find on eBay but it looks like they are hard to find. I assume it failed on corrosion? is it just on a small part of it or is the whole thing crumbling away. I am thinking if it is just a small part whether it could be removed from the car and then welded on a bench at some small independent metal working workshop/car repairer where some old bloke might do it while you wait for a tenner in his pocket. I know these kind of places are harder to find these days. I know welding a brake backplate sounds unconventional but if it is a small area and it is done properly there is no reason why not.
