hi folks,newbie here i've just inherited my dads 1990 1.1 fiesta with new engine and gearbox engine is fine but steering goes stiff all of a sudden without warning! not power assisted ...any ideas?When i sprayed everything in sight with wd40 the problem goes away for a short while but then returns

Could be a worn steering rack.
