chrisnut2
Hi All you galaxy owners, New to the site but have been reading up on the posts re front wipers not working and the alarm back up unit being the culprit. well my wipers have given up the ghost and refuse to work, not ideal in our tropical climate ! . I have some probs that dont seem to get a mention and wonder if anyone else has had the same. I have removed the fuse for the alarm and also removed the alarm unit from under the N/S wheelarch but wipers still not working, I have since taking out the fuse / alarm box a alarm service warning on the dash display.which was not showing before. wipers have not gone into the emergency 15 min runthrough as seems to be mentioned with the galaxy or the random alarm going off . anyone any ideas what else could be cause or had the same failure on there galaxy. and managed to get the wipers to work again. Also checked the 30A wiper fuse in the fusebox and it is ok. can't seem to locate which is the relay as the owners manual only shows fuse layout in there respective locations .anyone know which is the wiper relay ? iantt
isnit just the front wipers not working or rear and does washers work? the front wipers dont have a relay. have you got multimeter to check voltages? if you have check the voltage to the fuse, then if ok check at each of the wiper motors at the connectors( brown/red wires ) for voltrages. also check the fusebox under the passenger footwell and check each connector is fully on ( this is where the linbus signal commands the wipers to work.) chrisnut2
Hi. Just front wiper not working, rear wash wipe working and front washers working, Fuse is ok and have swapped it with a known good one Have a multimeter and will check voltages when the damn rain stops. thought the fusebox under the hood layout was the same as the mk4 mondeo which has a couple of relays for the windscreen wipers and also seems to suffer from the same wiper problem. There is 1 small black relay in the same position as the mondeos wiper relays so a bit confused as to where the wiper motors draw there power from if not through a relay. I'm old school where car electrics are involved and dont fancy lining the local ford dealers already bulging pockets if i can avoid it. Last visit to them was a wallet busting affair.
