InstructorPiggy
Ok...so feel free here (1st to tell me if I missed in searching another thread) and secondly to add your new Fiesta 'charms'!! Only for the new Mk7 Fiestas please... Please put: Fault Age at which fault appeared Millage where fault appeared Rectification Did Ford fix it!??! How quick did Ford fix? Mine: its 1week old.... 500miles on the clock... Lose handbrake...slack and lose. Passenger window is very slow going up. Creak from N/S/F suspension over humps. Just noticed the presupply pump is making a rather lot of noise!!! No fix yet...just emailed to report!! And is it just a design fault that whenever I make a large change to temperature settings the A/C says "ooo, I 'll come on for that"?!?!? If I wanted the heating to do as it !Removed! well pleased I would have got my car with climate control!!!! :)
Flic
Regarding the A/C coming on, I recently found out that if you put the control to windscreen it automatically turns on the A/C, if that's your niggle! Apparently it helps with the de-misting. I'm a woman, what do I know
S666LER
My bosses van turns on a/c when its turned to window as is does help yeah
bILLOO
Ah, wondered the same! It never did in the mk6.5.
InstructorPiggy
nah, all sorts of changes, temperature, fan, direction...does me head in...if I want A/C, I will push the damn button!!!.....
bILLOO
Another thing... about this capless fuel... isn't it easy for somebody to just open where the petrol goes in when walking passed your car... and also open the boot for that matter? :P I think the mark 6.5 was good in that you needed a key to open both... If you mean to syphon your fuel away, i think there is a mesh in there to stop you getting the pipe in far enough to do that. Not sure as not tried ;) , but I think thats been standard for a while now on most cars. Doesn't stop vandalism though, the ol' sugar in the tank trick... bILLOO
Having a cap wasn't that bad, not sure why they've decided to get rid of it.
FMC
Having a cap wasn't that bad, not sure why they've decided to get rid of it. Are you mad?!! :P Ford's EasyFuel capless filler is the single best invention since sliced bread! As for the boot being able to be opened by passers-by, i think it locks once the car is moving then stays locked until the driver's door is opened, even when the car comes to a halt (it does this on my Focus anyway)
Flic
Does anyone else feel a bit posh going to the petrol station then just popping open their petrol cover and filling up without taking the cap off...? Just me? Ok....

ogryn
Petrol Cap is sticking when I press it in. Usually pops out about 5-10 seconds later though (until tonight when it was a little bit frozen and I had to lever it open). That's my only mechanical fault (touch wood) so far in 9 months. However the radio: MP3 skipping issues (bleugh) Hangs whilst turning on, requiring a turn off/turn on again of the button. (annoying!) I get the feeling the software in it wasn't quite ready when the car was released, so they just pushed it out anyway.

I think capless is a great idea but they didnt product test well enough <_<

I think capless is a great idea but they didnt product test well enough <_< Sorry to have to disagree Piggy, but I've had EasyFuel filler in my ST for nearly 2 years, and only once had a problem - which was the very first day and the dealer tried filling it up before we left the showroom - he didn't insert the pump nozzle properly and ended up spilling about a fiver's worth of juice over his very shiny shoes! As long as you wait at least 5 seconds after filling, bvefore removing the nozzle, there's no drips. The instruction manual says to wait 10 seconds, but that feels like an age when at the pumps lol! xxtrickzxx
my gripe with the car is the stereo system, the anti clipping software comes in far to early ie you have the volume at 14 with nice bass turn it up to 16 and the bass just disappeared, switching the dsp to driver from all helps abit but it still not good! oh yea and ive just bought an iPhone 3gs and the system doesnt even register it for ipod side of things :(

You could wait 10...15...20seconds...still drip down the side of me car!! Got to ask...like all these other things...what was wrong with the cap?? Mk3s ruseted coz the cap was on outside...so they made it reccessed...not known any complaints since... IF it aint broke...dont fix it me thinks. Its only a gripe I spose...I just ill and he lil things annoy me!!

InstructorPiggy
Few niggles?!? Its brand new?!? I can be picky...but me 20year old Colt had less niggles and problems. Just don't think we shud expect it...so english!

I think capless is a great idea but they didnt product test well enough <_< I HATE THE EASY CAPLESS THING ALSO :) i read somewhere that it will break when you pull the fuel nozzle quickly at an angle. and its quite expensive to fix it rather than lets say buying a new CAP. sometimes, SIMPLER IS BETTER
boggyb68
I don't mind the caples system, I do spill diesel dribbles in the fuel hole and only once did a nozzle not be be accepted by the car, but it seems to work well.. my ST one worked fine and my missus Renault Megane CC one works ok too. Rear passenger window is a big sluggish to close but apart from that all other niggles have been sorted out. Just had the waterproof rubber strip around the passenger window replaced as it was twisted under the window at the top.. they were going to charge me about £100 as it was 3 days out of warranty (trim is only covered for a year) but my local Ford dealer, Haynes of Maidstone pursued it, off their own back, with Ford customer care and they agreed to pay 95% of the cost so I only paid £3.31 in the end.. well pleased about that, and as I paid something towards the cost it's covered for another year, if they had fitted it totally free it wouldn't be covered at all. Oh and I do like the hands free system too, none of this using a key nonsense.. ;) Cheers B.
Kentish Man
Had my Zetec S about a month now, did not notice it at first but it appeared that the drivers door was slightly out of align so at some angles it looked like it was not shut properly. I took it back and the dealer had the car for a day to adjust in their workshop, they said if I was still not happy with it they would have to send it to their body shop. Anyway it's still not quite right but better than it was so I have left it. I am not sure if it could be made better anyway, if you did not know about it you would not see it. Has anyone else had poor fitting panels etc.
