jeebowhite
I have a 2005 Zetec climate 1.6 TDCi 109hp. I am wanting to tune it up. I want to start with the smallest / cheapest things. i.e. I cannot afford a remap. How can I tune my car for (moreso) performance, and also efficiency, cheaply and easily. I know small things like air filter can make a difference? All advice will be gratefully received. Also, if you can tell me which modifications would most likely require the insurance company to be informed. Many Thanks James
InstructorPiggy
for now just keep up on the servicing...any mods like exhaust or air filter will only likely either make car run badly or the ECU will adapt and you will notice no change! Look out for bluefins on eBay, they going cheaper now, well worth it :) any and all mods are worth telling insurance :)
jeebowhite
thanks for that, well if I want to get a bit more power out of it if I can, and maybe as time progresses I will be willing to spend a few more quid on it, so how would I do it? as I know the ECU's nowadays are a bit better and do adapt more, but what could I do? short of buying a piggyback ECU which will cost about 90 - 130. what sort of order should I upgrade components in to get the best out of them?
