Electrical Fault

Good afternoon folks,

2009 focus 2.0 tdci

All of a sudden, the car cut out in city traffic, no charge in the battery to start.

Got the car recovered and a new battery put in the car.

The car turned over, and then died, drained the battery and I could smell electrical burning.

I'm pointing towards a burnt out alternator or electrical shortage.

Anybody ever came across this?

Thanks for looking, have a good weekend,

Nathan

Narrowed it down to a burnt out alternator.
