ZackZack
Hi all i am trying to get another keyfob programmed for my 2014 ST however when the guy plugs in his device into the OBD port he does not get any power. I have been told to check all fuses and after sending it to a car electrics specialist he says all fuses are fine and present and that there is another deeper problem. Has anyone experienced this before?
alexp999
If you bought the car second hand there is a chance the previous owner disabled the port. Could either be a blocking module, or a special wiring extension or dummy port, etc. Might have to start tracing the wiring from the port.
ZackZack
I will tell the specialist when i see him, i the car was a cat d stolen recovered, so i believe that could be the case maybe they disabled it for a reason!!!
Stoney871
Check the rear of the obd port has more than 2 wires, most fake port extension looms only come with the 12v supply wires attached (no data connections).I have one which has all wires present (only 12v actually connected) which looks far more convincing than a 2 wire version.Sent from my SM-G930F
