2009 Fiesta 2 door drivers seat issue

I have all of a sudden got an issue with the drivers seat in my  2 door fiesta. Up until a couple of days ago, after you pushed the back of the seat forward and then slid the seat forward to let the rear passenger out, you could slide the seat back and it would stop it the position it was set at. All of a sudden, when you push it back, it doesn't stop any more but goes right back as far as it will go. Which is really annoying.

Has anyone else had or have come across this issue and if so, how was it fixed?

Thanks in advance

Not on a fiesta but one of my cars used to do the same, I worked out the following. If I slid the seat away from the front with the backrest still pulled forward then the seat would slide all the way back, if I put the seatback to where it should be then the seat itself would slide back to my preset position. Hope that makes sense!
