don51208@gmail.com Posted April 27, 2017 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Hi I have a focus 1.8 2001 it revs up to about 2000 when idling if you disconect the idle valve control it no longer over revs the mechanic I have been using said he took it out and cleaned it could it be I need a new valve I had just fitted a new fuel pump and as the old one did not give enough pressure and it was only after this that it started to over rev anyone got any ideas Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
