JohnAC
Ford Fiesta TDCI Mk 6 08 Facelift. Drivers side rear door open warning light on even though door shut. Couple of times slamming door shut usually puts it out but occasionally comes on while driving. Interior light stays on while warning light is on....to be expected. However, strangely it does not affect central locking....working even with warn light on! Surely if computer thinks door is open central locking should not work? (tried leaving door actually open and as expected central locking does not work!) Central Locking Actuator or loose/broken wire fault? Any advice/solution before I pull the door apart would be appreciated. Not sure I've posted this in the right place?
alexp999
Sounds like a faulty switch to me, but yeah I'd have thought it would stop central locking working.
John Lynch
Hi, Did you fix this problem? I have the same thing but on the passenger side. I have tried replugging the door loom connector but I don't know where the switch is or how to get to it. Any ideas? Thanks John

Thanks John Not fixed yet but tried door loom connector, cleaned and reconnected, no joy! Apparently switch is in door lock so will need to strip door and replace Lock Actuator, got one on flea bay but yet to fit it. I still don't understand why central locking still works if computer thinks door is open!!!

Paulkp
I would check the multiway connector in the door jambs first. I don't know what it looks like on an S Max, but just disconnect, check pins look clean and reconnect.
