Jonro2009 Posted May 30, 2017 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Well tonight I am feeling pretty pleased with myself. I have fitted a reverse camera to my mkV which apparently Ford said couldn't be done! Well I managed to do it for less than £30 and it works like a charm. Comes on as soon as reverse is selected and shows on the screen of my Sync2. I did have someone giving me guidance via text but otherwise it was a solo effort. A fair amount of work but now it's done it is well worth it[emoji3] Anyone else done this? I've taken some pictures along the way. I have the hatchback but I do have some information about doing it on the estate as well. The only thing missing, as it isn't OEM are the the white lines that move with the direction of the steering wheel. Jonro2009 Posted June 1, 2017 Author Share Posted June 1, 2017 I have the sync2 unit in my Mondeo, as far as I am aware there is no difference in the installation if you have a sync3. I don't see any reason why the installation of the camera and wiring would be any different in your hatch, it is a PITA to do but well worth the effort.
