profjlowe
The steering on my 07 Focus Zetec squeaks / creaks a little when steering at low speeds and parking. After 6 times I brought it into my Ford dealer for repair under the warranty, they have replaced the tie rods, the tart mounting, adjusted coil springs etc (basically has a new suspension) and it's still recurring. It's still nice to drive but it annoying sound occurs usually when parking at low speeds. Anyone got this problem as well? In the cold weather, the engine squeels a little when it starts and when driving through the first 1-2 miles or so, am not sure if this is related to the steering-suspension problem. I'm really tired of all these problems and don't feel like taking it into its 3rd yr without the warranty. In fact, I am thinking of giving up on Ford and getting a new BMW 1 series instead. Bagheera
Maybe WD-40 would solve it. Have you checked for Z-rods?
profjlowe
ide get some white spray grease and grease up the rubber bushes on the drop links etc and a little squirt up into the strut tops. Thanks for this mate, and was this to address the squeeling noise from my engine or the creaking sound from my suspension? Based on what my Ford workshop says, the problem with the squeaking in the suspension is a tart-mounting problem but they kept insisting that it's been greased and oiled sufficiently. My workshop manager said the work on my car under the warranty has been extensive as they've had to strip the suspension four times already and clocked up more than 1000 worth of labour alone. Anymore work under the warranty and Ford may decline the repairs which the dealership may have to absorb. Seems to be surprisingly unreasonable for a car to have so many problems as it has done only 14000 mls from new in Mar 2007
artscot79
sorry i warefring to the suspension squeel from the engine im assuming is a b elt loose to be honest if its been to that extent then it shouldnt matter how many times the cars been done its still under warranty if they cannot resolve the issue you can ask for a replacement give trading standards a call mate as you can take it back

Now herar this... the fords Trchnical guy came down and he's he one suggesting it was the steering but it wasn't because after the repair the noise is still there.. They don't know what the problem is...for them to regect the car on this... what a f*** up...Now what do I do? And who mentioned the Trading standards... I work for the council and the trading standards won't,don't get involved any where near this stage... it 's a wholeeeeee long winded journey before they get involved..
