Wiig
Hi. My AC on my FF 2006 MK II 2.0 is getting really noisy . I got the aircon pump changed in januar 2016 , and got gas refilled . But when the temp rises , in the summer , the noise rises. What is the problem ???? Wiig
Dave1981
When was the air con belt last changed? My mk2.5 has noisy air con. A high pitch whine after a few min of running. Turned out to be that it was low n needed refilling and also the belt was worn .
Wiig
The belt was changed in 2014 . My noise is like a bad bearing . And it dispeares when the AC is shut off. But the pump is almost new , so i doubt that the bearing is worn. Wiig

Wiig
I have contacted the garage where i got the ac pump 2.5 years ago , and the pump is done , so new one , again . Why is the pump beaking down ? The original pump was noisy as this one , and now it is the same . On my car there is a belt going from crankshaft to the pump , NO extra wheel , how is it on eksample the newer ones FF 2.5 and 3 models?? isetta
how is the belt tensioned? is it by moving the pump on a pivot? perhaps overtensioned when fitted and that puts too much strain on the bearings (at end of crankshaft and aircon pump)
Dave1981
If it's like mine then when you fit it you use the supplied tool to guide it into the pulleys.. no pivots on either end

A speciel tool to get it on the aircon and crank wheel. But in my head it is the wrong way to have it like this , you cant tightned it at all , it is on or not.
