2015 Ford Fiesta SE Sedan 1.6L

Factory: 130 HP

K&N Cold air intake: 3-5 HP

Innovative Chip: 35 HP

HP now: 170ish

not on yet, Flowmaster 10 series muffler: 5 HP

No dyno, increase in response, faster take off, hitting higher speeds faster.  Not to shabby

Eye appeal: Liquid Gold Vinyl stripes on Ruby Red paint. Stands out very nice. Stark Industries on the back lower bumper cut into the vinyl.

Seat Covers of Ironman, Wind flares over the windows, lower accent lights with turn signal function not from Ford installed by me. lol looks pretty cool in my opinion.

Looking into LED headlights as well.  Will update pics soon.

What other upgrades are worth looking into?  Any thoughts?

I know the front end takes after the Astin Martin since Ford owns them.

Not for 10 years or so they haven't! Ford still have shares I think, but I'd guess at less than 10%. Ford supplied engines a while ago, but I think Aston Martin have a deal with merc-AMG now.

Never seen one either, These were solely for North America (unless others know different) Not available here, like the colour touch screens with Sync3 in USA, duo-tone interior plastics in rest of Europe etc. UK always gets poverty-spec. vehicles

Wikipedia says:

Fiesta Four-door saloon
Originally available in China and other parts of Asia, later in North American and South American markets, and then in Australasia. In 2015, the saloon began production in Russia for the market.

I have been to many countries where they seem to have a preference for saloon cars and hatchbacks do not seem so popular. I don't really understand why.
It look a long time for hatchbacks to catch on in UK.  The Austin Maxi came out in 1969, it was a 5door hatchback with a 5 speed gearbox. Ford's equivalent 5dr hatchback was the mk3 escort in 1980 and that only had 4 speed gearbox at first.   I know that the Fiesta hatch was out a few years before that but still many years after the Renault 5 and Fiat 127.

They have them in Asia and Australia made in the factory in Rayong, Thailand.

I think saloon cars are considered more of a business mans car in the UK. A Fiesta saloon just wouldn't fit in to the style of cars we have in the UK. I often see the Fiesta compared to the Corsa and Polo. Imagine a saloon version of those cars!

  • 4 weeks later...

At first I got the Sedan automatic because I was getting tired of using manual transmissions but tend to miss it every so often.  With the appearance and color scheme that the US has, this is what we are used to, I guess.

Just installed Flowmaster 309S cat back exhaust system, with Hush technology.  Has a rumble like a mustang at idle.  Semi quite while tooling around back and forth to work. When you get on it the exhaust comes alive and sounds extremely nice. does not sound like a rice burner.  Actually has a rumble of a bigger engine than a 4 cylinder from the sound of it, real head turner with surprised looks.  :)

I'd be extremely surprised if your estimate of 175hp is correct.

Obviously a dyno test is needed for a definitive answer but +35hp from a chip/remap on a naturally aspirated engine is very ambitious

Love seeing topics like this, it inspires me to do my own. I ordered some LED rear brake / sidelights and reverse lights from autobeam. First time I've ordered from them and hopefully will do a topic in installing them. They also have some LED indicators which don't require resistors which I think will be very helpful as you won't need to do any wiring just plug and play.

I thought every car had to have a minimum of 8 cylinders in America?

Like @Dave-2912 said, I doubt a remap will get you 35hp on a NA engine. Also a lot of these "performance chips" you get for under £50 on eBay are utter crap. All they do is flash different colours, been proved many times not to make any difference at all in power. So make sure what you've got is legit, as most chips aren't.

I'd agree with Luke, keep away from these cheap eBay performance chips. I remember watching a video from mighty car mods where they bought a cheap eBay performance chip, installed it in their car and dynod it. It did not increase the horsepower.
