Jonny87
I would be up for that (well except for the mountain biking - I don't do 2 wheels anymore) where was you thinking of going? I suppose the benefit of doing this sort of thing with a fiesta is the potential to haul large amounts of beer and scotch in the boot :) Would you show up though titanium_s_spec? Jonny87
Parking can be pretty poor and expensive in the Lakes. Plus by July 22nd the whole area will be rammed full of tourists, rammed I tell you! Also the Lakes are the most rainy part of the whole UK, and they are about as close to Scotland as it gets so you will probably get major opposition from the petrol scrooges I dont know much about Snowdonia, but I would imagine that its a bit less busy than the Lakes Maybe cosider the Peaks? its a bit more central. Or maybe the Dales? Usually fairly quiet but good scenery, walks, and pubs... I'm up for anything, but realistically I doubt that this would ever happen. Reasons being the cost and commitment. You would be spending £100's on petrol, booking annual leave, and countless more costs incurred by the camping/accomodation, whatnot and suchlike.... As a forum we can barely manage three fiesta's at Watford Gap!!! However If this attracts more than say three other people then maybe we could get together to discuss something. GL s_spec! Yes I have heard of free camping! It's just a case of camping on somebodys land without telling them or paying for it... There is of course the cost of camping equiptment which some may not have. Personally I have a decent compact sleeping bag and a comfy thermarest, and can easily spend a tenner on a cheapo tent at the drop of a hat. (I very rarely do camping so I dont bother to invest in a good tent) I mentioned booking leave as an issue as several other people would have to coordinate their leave with you, as yours is already booked. Made more difficult because your leave is booked at one of the most popular times of year, thus others may not be able to get the same leave. I mentioned the petrol because you suggested the Lakes. To get to the Lakes from the South East is about 300 miles and about 5-6 hours straight driving. A return trip would cost between 80-100 in petrol. Personally I dont care or even give a flying monkey about times or distances or how much petrol i'm burning. But for some people that would put them off straight away - because they are pussys... It's a really good idea s_spec, I wasn't saying any different, but was just pointing out some potential possible stumbling blocks. anybody else up for this??
