Possible ECU Problems?

Hi all, wonder if anyones able to help here. Got a 2006 2.0 TDCi Focus. Cars been running great and still starts and drives great as well. Today though, I pulled up at home after a run out and turned engine off. Then a message appeared saying interior alarm sensor was deactivated. Thought that was a little strange but locked up and went in. About 30 mins after the neighbours knocked saying my alarm was going off which it was and the wipers were going (very jerky) as well. Got in started car and everything was normal and wipers stopped. Turned car off and wipers started again. (very jerky)

I did go through a big puddle and i know the PCM is behind the N/S Wheel arch, but before I start taking wheels, kick plates etc off just wondered if anyone knows if this controlled the wipers and if this might be the place to start looking?? Just seems a co-incidence bearing in mind the big puddle and the electrical problem. Also would it dry itself out?

I've taken the battery terminal off for the time being to prevent any further damage.

Thanks for reading, Alan.

More likely a wet fuse box than the ecu.

Thank you. I'll take out fuse box in a bit and dry it out if its wet. I've disconnected battery already so will that limit the damage until i get the fuse box out?

Cheers, Alan.

Shouldn't be any lasting problems, I'd check every fuse and relay to be 100% sure though.
Water will just short over contacts causing the random power tweaks as per your symptoms.
A good spraying with wd40 then a thorough drying out should sufficem
