Charger keeps fusing

I've had about three cig chargers which I use for an android phone and they seem to be blowing the fuse – any ideas why? Could it be triggered by stalling? Thank you if you can help.

What size fuse is fitted?
Iirc it should be 20A.

Check your socket is clean inside with no loose bits of metal (foil!) inside it. Have you tried a decent cig adapter (i.e. for sat nav) to see if that blows it? Is it just when you plug something into the socket, or as soon as you replace the fuse?

A single phone charger should draw no more than 3-5A max (5V 3A is 15W, so even at 50% efficiency you're talking a max of 12V 3A ish input).
