hey guys i have been searching the net and eBay for a set of bumpers off the special edition collection focus, but cant find any. anyone know where to get a set of mk1 collection bumpers? im going to fit them to my 5door 1999 mk1

you wont find any they are like hens teeth and expensive if/when they do come up

is that the price!! :( i guess its not worth doing, not for that price lol the front of my focus looks naff i just want sumthing nice to improve the look of the car. but thanks for that link anyway mike cheers :P

lol just have a look into facelifting yours or look for "front splitters" i wanted one of them on my beast think they can transform the look of your car easily and with out the massive expence, also have you got the yellow indicators or the clear ones, they make a massive difference.

The choices are endles just gota have a look and a poke around the internet mate and no worries!! fellow ford people look out for each other lol

yeah was looking at the splitters to just cant make my mind up, yeah i have got the clear indicators :D that was the first thing i did when i got the car, its unreal the improvement they make, do you own a mk1? their a nice car, mine is a year 1999 focus which is worrying how old it is :(

I've got one of the last of the mk1's (2004 04plate) ever since i was little ive wanted one call me sad but i did lol i was on the verge of buying a mazda 3 then i saw a light blue focus sat on the forcourt with sum old guy looking at it so when they went me and my dad went in for the kill and bought it :P had only done 31,000 miles at the time (pushing 50,000 now) and yeah! ive got hundreds of photo's lol i treat it better than i do myself!

I wouldant worry about the age personally its the milage and how the previous owners have treated it, ive seen ex taxi diesel's with over 300,000 miles on them stil starting every morning without fail. The focus is a preaty tough little car mate just keep your eye out for the usuall little niggles and she'l last the due course

Yep mate its my first focus and hopfully the start of a long and happy relationship with ford, no no ur not sad at all i too used to grow up watching wrc thinking a mk1 is my dream car! My dad bought this car when he traded in his escort in 2001 so its been well looked after not raked or rallied lol, then he gave it to me last year when he bought the mk3 focus. Only 62k on the clock after 11years,

Yours is a beaut btw!i prefer the 3dr focus so much nicer looking but sure i cant complain, any mods planned? If i had a three door i would be turning it into a rallye rep! :P not the chav type a proper replica, i hate people who ruin the beauty of a car Lol

keep it simple with the focus so many over do it and some do it badly what you have there is s good car not much ide do to it really when i had my vw we preferred sleeper cars ie a car thet looks standard till you pop the bonnet i still prefer to keep as much standard body wise a spossible i see so many with big kits etc consider buying another standard bumper and modifying it youreself theres usually a few lurking in the breakers yard

I have to agree with artscot79 on the keep it simple part, the best looking modded focus's are the ones with very little changed and if changed only with ford parts or ones that look like ford would of fitted (check the pictures below of my mates poor mp3 edtion :( ) if the bosses wernt a bunch of old triffs! A wrc lookalike would be good if i didnt use the car eveyday ie stuck in traffic on the morning commute to college where the leather seats, quickclear and horn are the most important parts :P .

Cheers btw for the comment lol! its much apprecaited i like the focus in silver better though and the early mk1's seem to have alot better splitter kits etc.

Sleeper cars are the way foward these days to much of the moded stuff gets to much attension of the police to be worth it same goes for loud exhausts. Another advantage of sleeper cars is you can show up for a track day in what would look like a completly standard car then get it on the track and absoutly hammer other things hence why i dont want to change the apperance of mine anymore just drop a mondey v6 engine in that way id get the power and smooth endles aceleration of the v6 but the police would drive past and just see a normal focus. ;)

Other than the v6 conversion i have absoutly no idea what else to do to my focus to be honest just see what comes on the market lol i did have a list up until recently where i thought "whats the point" lol just goning to change the headlight bulbs to xeon, led numberplate lights etc more modern look parts than anything.

What were your planns with your foci anyway mate bar the collection bumpers lol

Lol other wise i would have no objections to dropping the v6 lump into her :P . You serious about doin it? As u can see from my pics the front of the car is a bit of a let down so wanna just get it lookin nice, dnt have alot of money either to blow :(

I was thinking about the xeon kits my friend bought a phillips set off eBay for £135 for his mk2 leon they look class, would i lose my full beam tho since h4s to the hi and low on one bulb? Any suggestions for what i could do to improve the front?

He's recked it its ragged to hell and unfinished he starts a job then never complete's it so in other words its fuc*ed. But i want his alloys BADLEY lol. Same on the insurance mate, got 3 points and 1yrs no claims and this year its just under 1000k, when i 1st started to drive it was 2300k lol. I am genuinally thinking of doing it when i get some money togeather for me the st170 just isnt fast enough and the rs's are supposed to be crap to drive due to the diff. I love my little foci dont want to part with it just wish it had a **** load more power lmao.

Id get a splitter they take the black trim off the bottom and make your car look lower id also ponder about fitting fog's but check into that to see if itd be a mammouth job 1st lol. What about a set of angel eyes i paied 130quid for mine of e-bay delivered and if im honest when there switched off they just look like proper focus xeons just going to stick a set of ice blue bulbs in (street legal) to finish them off. I wouldant bother with the hid kits over here in britan there a tad illegal lol and where i live the police are wa***rs ive been pulled before now for having led rear lights (which are street legal and E marked).

With HID's you do loose your full beam due to it being pointles you get no extra gain from it over the HID bulbs.
