Why more than double the price

A mate needs the power steering pipes for his mk2 focus 1.6 petrol and asked me to find them..

Why are the ones for his 70+ (the bay of evil) yet ones for the 1.6 diesel are only 30odd, i know they're obviously different but in what way

 The 1.6TDCi uses electro-hydraulic system.  I'm pretty sure the 1.6 petrol uses a conventional mechanical hydraulic system.  Pipes got to different places.

I thought conventional would be cheaper

You thought wrong then...   

Also, if you're fitting them, you need a new nut for the new pipes on the old style system...this nut must be fitted to the PAS pump and then the pipe pushed into that, it doesn't work if you try fitting the nut onto the pipe first.

I know how they're fitted I just didn't know why they're more than double....I'll pass it on and he can decide

I work for a ford parts department and the pipes come as a pair for around 70 ive never seen any for mk2 focus for around 30
