zain611
About 2 weeks ago autobeam sent out replacement switchback fog lights as one of my old ones went faulty Old next to new. The new one is slightly shorter which is good as it now doesn't touch the AC pump on the right side. Nice and bright
zain611
Yesterday started some work on the car. Had a few things to do including putting a new intercooler on, putting LED Bulbs in the full beam and a few other things. Fitted the bulbs in. Ordered new dust covers for the dipped beam bulbs. New intercooler with old one Main reason I got a new intercooler was because the back bracket in the old one rusted off and cannot buy these brackets separately so just bought a new intercooler with the brackets. Stops the intercooler from hitting the new condenser on harsh accelerations. Left it here for today to continue on Also removed the halo lights on the fog surrounds and will stick the new working ones on.
zain611
Since my last post I fitted everything on. Bought new headlight dust covers for the HIDs. Cut a hole for the grommet to come through and seal it from moisture. Attached the HID ballast below the headlight. Halos were fitted again New intercooler fitted. Love how it can be seen behind the grill
zain611
Recently I noticed my dashcam stopped working along with the cigarette lighter. Found the fuse to of blown and sorted that.
zain611
Decided to upgrade my HID Kit and get autobeams performance version 😂. States this kit has a 55w ballast and HID bulbs whereas my current kit is 35w. Will shine brighter plus can't beat their 5 year warranty. Hopefully will arrive tomorrow. zain611
The kit came the next day and fitted everything on. Replaced the 35w ballast and bulbs to the 55w kit. Adjusted the beam height as they were a little high. Definitely brighter and light up the road more now after lowering the beam.
zain611
Picture of the LED high beams Also managed to get a picture of the new HID Kit. Really bright 😁
zain611
Last month I bought these MK1 focus ST170 calipers. Managed to get them for £40 which is a steal considering I got the ST150 calipers for £55. Can fit 300mm discs on the front 😎. Bought brand new 12mm carrier bolts for it. Cleaned them up Then sprayed them gloss black Got Stark 300mm bigger discs with ATE pads. Seems like ATE made these calipers as their name is engraved on it. Now just looking at a time to fit them on. Need to drill a 12mm hole in the hub for the bigger carrier bolts to go into.
zain611
Fitted the ST170 calipers and bits in. ST150 brakes These have to be drilled out to a 12mm hole. Used this tough M12 drill bit Then began to drill through the hub. Intermittently sprayed brake cleaner to keep it cool. Ended up with this Then fitted the bigger 300mm discs on with new ATE pads and original springs. Finishing results before and after On the bolas
zain611
2 weeks ago I found the front tire to be flat. Found this nail to be in it 🤦 Bought these new Uniroyal rainsport 5 tires to replace this tire and the other tire on the front of the car. Was thinking of getting toyos again but the rainsport 5s are better rated especially for wet grip.
zain611
Went down to sambos tyres and fitted the tires. Also checked the tracking and it's out so will need to arrange another day to get that done. The toes need adjustment Managed to clean it dispite the bad rain this month

BigMark2
Joined today as I boughts a 2006 Zetec S and have just read through this. Great job your doing on your car. I'm liking the brake upgrades!! Have you done anything to your suspension or did I miss that bit? I'm tempted to start playing with mine (EGR blanking plate already ordered) tho I am trying to resist doing any mods to mine as A) I got it just as a cheap daily and b) I already have a big project car in the garage.

Hey Mark I really appreciate you going over my thread. With the EGR I had no issues with any engine light coming on. I think the light only comes on when the ECU spots that the valve is stuck. Haven't touched the suspension. Was thinking of getting 35mm lowering springs but wondering at the moment. I'm waiting till October as that is when the ULEZ extension comes in closer to my area so want to see if it'll have an affect on me and if I may need to change the car. Lol it's up to you really. This is my only car though I hardly do much mileage so don't worry to much.
zain611
So quite a bit has happened since my last post. Fitted a newer camera and installed a rear dashcam. Sadly had some idiot lose control and hit my car. Decided to fix it without the insurance as this guy was uninsured. Thanks to the dashcam I found who did it. The video below at 49 seconds in. Whilst the car was getting fixed up I got some colour coded door handles, door strips and mirror covers. Bought a second hand door which I polished up Car is all fixed now 😊. Got them to paint the front plastics too and boot handle.
zain611
Fitted the colour coded bits on. Really blackens the car further The problem I faced was the resprayed side was a shade lighter when seen in the sun so today gave the car a machine polish and used a black polish. This thankfully helped it blend in. Before After polishing
Zhuuuk1
Hi! I've recently got my hands on a Mk 6.5 fiest 1.6 Zetec s TDCI. It`s not in the greatest shape, but that that will all be sorted. I`m looking for an advice, tips, tricks or just links. After some aftermarket mods, looking for anything really apart from focus injectos. Also, if anyone has done a turbo oil feed re-routing, where what and how, as the one I have feed pipe is clogged and believe is very common issue on these cars. Would like to make already sporty zetec look, handle or even sound more sportier than already is. By sportier I mean something more rally like. I believe it already has uprated suspension and it has been already chipped to stage 1. I`ll see if I can get pictures uploaded at some point soon. Anything appreciated TIA
zain611
@Zhuuuk1 hey man, your free to get some ideas with mods here. In terms of the oil feed filter I heard of people just removing the filter. With mine either it was cleaned out at one point or the previous owners had kept up with their servicing. zain611
So sadly the time is coming up to put the car on sale due to this stupid ULEZ charge expansion. My work is just within the new border their put in on the 25th and so the car isn't going to be able to go in there without paying £12.50 a day. Will be removing the wheels and headlights and some other bits before sale. Heres my downgrade. Going back to the C1/107/aygo platform. Even cheaper to run with £0 tax and more miles before empty. I can upgrade if I want but need a cheap to run car to save up for future plans.
Paulkp
Sympathise with the £12.50. My Family are all in St Pancras Cemetery, Finchley. Borders the North Circular, but the entrance is of course some yards South, so we are looking at the charge for visiting tending the graves which are only 50yds inside the A406.......

zain611
So yesterday the fiesta got sold and handed to it's new owner. Gave it a nice clean one final time and tried out bilt hamber touch on ceramic shampoo which really made the car shine. Jordan if you read this take good care of the car and i hope it doesn't let you down 😁. I'll say this marks the end of this project build of the fiesta 🙏

Were they professionally done?
zain611
Hey @Sully04. They were done by the same bodyshop who repaired the car. I wouldn't say perfect as there were a few imperfections but was good. Sorry have been inactive on here due to life and not owning a ford now. Now got this VW UP I'm doing up
