logie bear Posted December 18, 2017 Share Posted December 18, 2017 hi i was looking for some advice, i have a fiesta 2008 1.4 tdci which is having some issues, the radio stopped working, so checked all fuses, all is good, then car wouldnt start so got a new battery, its only a week old and the car doesnt want to start, for some reason everytime you restart the car the trip odemeter resets back to zero, if you jump the car it fires up straight away, please help someone Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Luke4efc Posted December 18, 2017 Share Posted December 18, 2017 Have you checked the alternator? Or a bad connection on the battery terminals. No idea why your radio stopped working though. If you bought it from a dealer a week ago it should really be them that sorts this out. Consumer rights brought in during 2015 means you can reject the car if it's not suitable for purpose. It does sound like it could be the connections on the battery cables - check both ends of the cables, and the earth cable from chassis to engine (I assume there will be one on this car) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well I did post it just after I get home. Guess Monday must have been a long day at work. The new shape fiestas just have a 8 inch long (I know that because I measured it with my... rule) cable connecting the bodywork to the negative terminal on the battery.
