#471997 Ford Fair Insurance Again Urgent Needs Answering By Organisers Asap

Posted by Steve on Yesterday, 08:48 AM

you can only claim from the PLI if the damaged is caused by equipment of the club, or you get injured by a flag pole or gazeebo.

PLI does not cover you for

  • Someone scratching your car unless it was scratched by club equipment. Basically if someone walked past your car and scratched it then you need to take it out with the person who scratched the car.
  • Theft from the vehicle (though your own negligence)
  • Acts of god (hurricane, massive hail storms etc.)
  • Someone dents your car with their car (your motor insurance covers this)
  • Driving to the pitch

What it will cover is

  • Club equipment damaging your vehicle
  • Any injuries caused by the club directly.
  • Death caused by the club directly
  • Theft of vehicle (only if we ask you to show your car officially on a show stand)

Policies are usually tailored to the individual business however as a guide, the insurance covers a business’s legal liability to pay damages to members of the public for death and injury or damage to property or possessions, which has resulted from the business’s activities.

No.. PLI will not cover that, but i do beleive car insurance will still cover you if you are hit by another insured vehicle.

But if you were on our pitch and a gazeebo on our pitch cartwheels in to your car then PLI will cover that and will cover you personally for accidents.

if someone backs in to you on the pitch then you claim this from your own car insurance.

i think it is still covered if another insured car hits your insured car.

But if on private land the land owner or event pitch organisation smashes your car then the PLI is covered.

Also PLI will cover for accidents. So lets say something electrical gies wrong and kills someone then this is covered.

The clubs public liability is £5m which will cover you on the pitch.

There are limitations to public liability insurance. If someone hits you while driving to the stand then PLI won't cover you. But if a gazeebo (owned by the club) hits your car then its covered. You cannot expect PLI to cover you for everything. There is a form of risk.

However, in the 14 years doing meets I have only ever seen one instance where a car was damaged due to wind blowing a banner stand in to a car.

As most stands are static then the risk is pretty small. more chance recking your car on the M25 i reckon

Halfrauds had better explain the use of this discount to all their staff as their Cwmbran branch havnt the foggiest.

I f you are there in office hours then they can call the number on the back. To be honest it's a bit naughty of them to decline it.. they should just try and enter the discount and then scan it.

go back and kick up

Well i went into my local halfords today. It has the usual gormless staff who have no clue. They were totally perplexed by the discount card I presented them with. They had never heard of it, and had to discuss it with 3 managers lol. In the end got my discount but you would have thought it would have filtered down to the stores my now.

This is very new, less than a month old now so they will eventually catch on. Plus these are exclusive to us so thats another reason no one has seen a discount card before. ;)

#282322 Crappy Tesco Fuel, Flashing Cel And The Archoil Solution

Posted by Steve on 14 August 2013 - 11:59 AM

I have been using crappy Tesco fuel for a while, missus wants the tesco club card points :(

I see Esso will soon offer Tesco club card points which hopefully make the fuel quality better. Look forward to that

EGR valves are a pain when they get sooted up and have found in my other car that using better fuel stations the EGR vavle got less sooted up.

I bought some of the Archoil AR6400-D product. I only stuck half in to half a tank of fuel just to see what happens, never really put additives in before so did not want to add the whole lot in just in  case.

I must say after running about 30 quid of diesel the engine now ticks over better on stand still and the performance of the engine feels better. I have not been on a long run yet, I think I will need to run the full treatment first.

I had been getting engine light on for about 2 months but never got a chance to get it checked out, but the engine light has gone away about 20 litres in to the treatment.

I recommend giving it a shot in your Diesel if you run cheaper fuel, but can be used in all Diesels anyway as it has many benefits.

Also the club has a discount code: FORDCLUB  when buying via PowerEnhancer.co.uk
