Air Con Bulb Trouble

07 September 2010 - 07:56 PM

I have been having some trouble with my Ka's A/C illumination LED which has been acting strange for about a year which is when the light stopped working altogether.
Since having the A/C regassed I have been using it a lot more, once or twice a week or more, and the bulb decided to start working again!
However the light only works when other lights are not turned on. When I turn on the sidelights or headlights, the A/C light goes off but the A/C stays on. Does anyone know what could cause this type of fault?

Poor Mpg

21 March 2010 - 06:23 PM

I have recently covered about 76 miles in my car and it seems to have used about 15 litres of fuel for this, which works out around 20-25 MPG. My car is a 2008 Ka 1.3 Style Climate, so it should be averaging 40 MPG. Admittedly it was a mixture of city/A road driving, lots of braking involved, but surely 20-25 is very low?

I have had the car from new ,and its covered just over 7,000 miles since new. It's never been driven hard, I keep the revs low, change gear as early as possible, very cautious with my acceleration/braking, so cannot see where this extremely poor MPG is coming from.

The last service was its 1st service at around 3800 miles in June 2009.

Dirty injectors?
Oil change needed?
Coil pack?
...?

Is it possible that the fuel gauge is vastly inaccurate for some reason?

Rustproofed Ka With Dinitrol

12 March 2010 - 01:25 PM

The Black Panther is now rustproofed. I decided I wanted it doing with Dinitrol rather than Waxoyl because it leaves a nicer finish and lasts longer.

Dinitrol 4941 was used underneath. Dinitrol Corromax brown cavity wax was used inside the doors, rear panels, sills, A and B pillars, and the boot lid.

The quality of these pics is a bit hit and miss, I'm afraid. Also, in the pictures, the underseal looks really glossy and wet - thats because these were taken before it had fully dried. It now has a nice matte finish.

Notice the poor primer job from the factory, uneven with most of it not covered properly.
