Hi, there is a tool you can buy, only 2 or 3 pounds, I think from Wilco or similar, its a small cube with pins on each face that fits into the slots in the brake piston, this attaches to a normal socket wrench and makes winding back the piston quick and easy. Because the pins on each face are spaced slightly differently this tool can be used on different types of car. It worked a treat on my mondeo without the need of removing the caliper.

Hi, my rear bearing went recently on my 52 plate mondeo saloon, dont know if the bearing differs on estates, but I found a site on ebay that only cost about £29 for a new bearing and about £4 postage.

Hi again, does anyone know if its ok to run the engine for a short while with the aux belt removed, or is it possible to damage the ecu or cause other problems.

Hi, Have you checked the wiper linkage? both my sons have focus,s and have had the same problem with the ball and socket parting company, if you can hear the motor turning this will be the problem, John
