Guide To Removing/installing Sony Stereo - Mk3 Focus 2011>

16 December 2012 - 05:27 PM

After this (successful!) upgrade yesterday I thought I'd share some helpful photos if anyone wanted to attempted the same :)

Here's what you'll need:

Step 1: underneath the stereo in the center is a small plastic piece of trim, you need to remove this to expose the screws underneath:

Step 2: remove the 2 screws:

Step 3: Pull the whole unit towards you taking care then all clips are released. Try to pull out vertically as not to bend or snap anything. You'll need to unplug a cable that goes in the back of the controls so don't pull it out too far.

Step 4: The screen is held in by the 4 screws highlighted in green, the stereo by the 2 in yellow. Remove these and pull outwards:

Step 5: Remove the plugs from the screen and CD player, then refit in reverse!:

Here's the screen in:

And the finished article, before and after:

Also here's a comparison of the old (blue) and new (colour) screen side-by-side:

I notice the colour screen has an extra input (top middle) - not certain but assuming this might be for reversing camera?

2010 ’10 Plate’ Zetec-S 1.6 Tdci [95] In Frozen White - £9,500 Ono

28 October 2012 - 04:26 PM

Alas I have a new job and unfortunately the Fiesta doesn’t get used anymore so the time has come to sell up and move on.

I’m sure many of you that follow me on the forum will have seen the time and love spent on the car, it really was a joy to own and I’ll be sad to see it go.

It has 47,800 genuine miles. Full Ford service history (next service due at 50k) and I am the one & only owner. No finance outstanding – HPI clear.

Currently transferring my private plate off of the car and should be complete within 2 weeks when the new paperwork comes through.

£20 a year road tax and can return over 65mpg, that’s less than 10p a mile at today’s prices! Registered July 2010, tax until end of June 2013, first MOT due end of July 2013.

£9,500 ONO – cash (at local bank) or CHAPS payment – car will only be released once full payment cleared.

Viewing is highly recommended and I’m sure the first to view will buy – I’m located in Northampton 10minutes from Junction 15 of the M1.
