Hello all, I am really considering a remap now on my diesel 1.8 , just would like to iron out the flat spot and make the car a bit more quicker if poss.
So has anyone got any horror stories about it or is it fine to do, because you here stories of engines giving up early and certain parts.
It's gonna take some work to perswade the misses and if it goes wrong I am dead
I know maybe some of you are bored of this question but are the cheap ish tuning boxes on eBay any good , do they naff up your car after a while, I know that getting a proper remap is the best thing but don't want to spend to much on one not looking for anything amazing just a little better mpg and make the flat spot almost if not go away. http://pages.ebay.co...lobalID=EBAY-GB
After 3 years of ownership and many long journeys today was the day the car let me down.
Pulled into some services for a break after about 100miles and the car just died and wouldn't start again, after trying and trying it eventually started again and I carried on my journey.
Then coming home it kept cutting out on the motorway but did start again.
Then pulling off the motorway near from home it died completely , then after about 20 mins it did start but with ( engine malfunction ) on the display. Anyway it got me home which I am thankfull for.
Called the RAC out and he said it had 3 fault codes on it and best thing to do is to put it in ford.
So I am now preparing myself to be totally sharfted £££££££
Any idea what it could be?
I know it sounds daft because of the loverly summer we are having ,but I need to get my air con recharged, any recommendations on where to go, I know Kwik fit do it but bit scared of going there herd bad things about them and air con.
