1.8 Tdci 2010 Focus, Slight Oil Leak?

27 September 2014 - 05:45 PM

Hi, I have had my 2010 Focus for around two years now.

Below is a picture of the engine when I bought it - nice and clean no dust or oil.

I have noticed over time that there is an oily build up on and around the black pipe at the back of the engine. This runs out of what I assume is the shiny metal turbo and round and under the orange screenwash box.

The shiny metal thing which I assume is the turbo is black down the left hand side now (where the pipe goes in) Is this normal? I have no oil patches in my parking space and there appears to be none on the plastic engine guards at the bottom of the engine?

Does the clamp maybe need tightening?
Can take a picture of it now to show the difference. Car had 23k when I took this, it is now 58k and serviced every year since purchase.

Replacement Head Unit 2010 Focus

06 July 2014 - 06:34 PM

Hi, I have the basic Ford head unit and I would like to upgrade it if possible.

Does anyone know if I can put the more fancy Sony unit in?

Ideally I would like one which understands USB drives but also works with the steering controls. Has anyone switched their stock one and if so what with?

Fitting Power Fold Mirrors 59Plate Focus

03 July 2014 - 11:55 AM

Hi, I have a 59 plate focus which appears not to have power fold mirrors. It does not have a button.

I am assuming the motors will not be built into the mirrors.

Does anyone have any ideas on how expensive it would be to do this?

I believe I would need to purchase two motors, a relay and program the car such that the function is turned on.

Suggestions On A Fiesta To Purchase

23 June 2014 - 01:23 PM

Hi, my girlfriend wants to get herself a fiesta. She is going to be doing motorway miles, but only a couple of junctions. She was planning on going for a diesel. I have a Focus with a trusty lynx engine in (no dpf to deal with).

She has found a few nice models such as this from a local dealer:

Though the age and suspiciously cheap tax leads me to believe that this will have an expensive to replace DPF built into the exhaust.

Can anyone recommend some good fiestas to purchase petrol or diesel?
Budget is no more than £7500, we need this to be economical and not much to maintain.

Any help would be great!

Scuffed Alloy, Any Recomendations Essex/hertfordshire?

11 April 2014 - 03:04 PM

I had to pull over onto the cub yesterday because of a nonse driving an Amey works van down the middle of the road. He took off and despite chasing him and his trailer, I lost him.

My alloy has been quite badly scuffed. I got his reg (off my dash cam) but don't think it is worth chasing him as it would probably not be worth the hassle.

Does anyone have any ideas on how much it would cost to get this sorted and where I could go (18" alloy, nsf is the one damaged)? I am on the Hertfordshire and Essex border, I also work in Enfield from time to time.
