#507477 Amazon Signs Clarkson, Hammond & May With Andy Wilman

Posted by alexp999 on Today, 04:39 PM

If I had to choose between Netflix and Amazon, I prefer Amazon.

I don't want or need Netflix, but if I have to pay for Prime to watch it, at least I get free one day delivery too. Still I don't order with paid delivery enough from Amazon to warrant it.

I'm sure they will bring out a DVD, or have offers and deals with other networks anyway.

Prime is only available in a handful of countries, so they need to sort something out...

#507476 Rear View Mirror Has 2 Sensors?

Posted by alexp999 on Today, 04:36 PM

It is a light sensor.

So the car can measure the brightness difference between the front and back.

If the car sees dark at the front, and bright at the back it will dim

With only a single light sensor facing backwards, it wouldn't know the difference between daylight and headlights shining through.

Press Release:

London  - 30 July 2015 – Amazon today announced that Jeremy  Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May will reunite to make a new car show  available exclusively to Amazon Prime members. The show will be produced by the  trio’s long time executive producer Andy Wilman.

The award-winning team have committed to  three seasons as part of this landmark global TV deal. The first season will go  into production soon and is scheduled to premiere for Prime members in 2016.

On working with Amazon, Jeremy Clarkson said:  “I feel like I've climbed out of a bi-plane and into a spaceship.”

Richard Hammond added: “Amazon? Oh yes. I  have already been there. I got bitten by a bullet ant.”

James May said: “We have become part of the new age of  smart TV. Ironic, isn't it?”

“Customers told us they wanted to see the  team back on screen, and we are excited to make that happen,” said Jay Marine,  Vice President of Amazon Prime Video EU. “Millions of Prime members are already  enjoying our ground-breaking original shows. We can’t wait to see what Jeremy,  Richard, James and the team will create in what is sure to be one of the most  globally anticipated shows of 2016.”

#507225 Focus St Tdci Top Speed

Posted by alexp999 on Yesterday, 04:36 PM

Faster 0-60.

Lower torque restrictions in various gears.

Sometimes better response.

Pull more "train-like", lol.

If the Focus Estate can do it in the 140PS state of tune, then I would think the ST can.

I doubt they have changed the ratio of 6th gear, as it is only there for economy, even on the ST.

There should be no limiter, even the petrol ST is not limited afaik. It just runs out of push at 154mph.

It is probably cheaper to insure a car with 140PS, than a 100PS one which has been mapped...

The tunnel is in the north east corner.

There should be lane signs when you get there guiding you in. I might see if I still have my map and scan it in from last year...

If not we'll have to climb out of the boot after parking.

Is there a map somewhere which shows where gate T and the other routes are?

Route T comes through the tunnel at Copse corner.

Route B is over the bridge, between pitch 16 and 20.

Well there is a lot of open grass in that corner, so I guess we will just have to spread out if there is not room.

Bit bothered though as 6 is where we were last year and is a LOT bigger than 23, with only 2 clubs.

I think 22 is going to take up most of 22 and 23, so we are just going to have to park wherever if there is no space.

I hope they have factored in for gaps between cars, lol.

Oh dear, a lot of unhappy people on their Facebook page. Seems there are a lot of cars supposed to be on 22 and 23

Looks like the map has been updated.

We are on an even smaller patch now, lol.

This is a shot of part of the area we are supposed to be on, from last year that I took.

IMG_20140803_115206.jpg

I guess we will just have to spread out along the track, more than the highlighted area indicates.

Unless you can get hold of them to confirm? But already seen there is someone complaining about the amount of cars they are trying to put on pitches, on their facebook page...

FINALLY!

We appear to be on the old bit of track, quite good there really, but not sure why we are being taken in route T?

#506878 Ford Sync Update (Usb)

Posted by alexp999 on 28 July 2015 - 03:41 PM

Supply and demand is the reason for the delays on the ST.

They have struggled with the Style pack wheels, and I know they have struggled on components needed for the ST3, all leather interior I think was one...

I ordered 22nd June and currently have an unspecified September build...

With regards CRC, they are a powerless waste of space.

If you want action, you have to go through head office.
