#402036 Auto Transmission And Traffic Lights.

Posted by btmaldon on 27 August 2014 - 11:41 AM

You should always put an auto into nuetral and put the handbrake on at lights. Same reason you should put a manual into nuetral with the handbrake on. If you get rear ended in gear there is nothing to stop the car travelling forwards if you cant keep your foot on the brake. Also it is never a good idea to leave your foot on the brake when its hot. In some cases the discs can warp especially after a fast drive with hard braking from high speeds. Also like leaving the cluch down in a manual, holding an auto in gear on the brake doesn't do the gear box any good.

I tried a Richbrook Ford Licensed one on my Focus but the signal was so poor I changed it back. The reception around here isn't great so it may depend on where you live.

I would change the pollen filter before using the canister, especially if it hasn't been changed for a bit.

#389955 2011 Mk3 Focus: Dials On Instrument Panel Not Working.

You need to check see if any of the fuses have blown.

Before you do this try disconnecting the battery for a while. It may reset the system.

#389776 Ford Focus: Can Mk2 Seats Fit Into A Mk3?

Posted by btmaldon on 24 July 2014 - 09:37 PM

The Mk 3 is the latest shape. Some call it a Mk 5 because instead of calling the facelift versions a Mk1.5, Mk2.5 they called these the Mk 2 and Mk4.

You may be able to get the front seats from a Mk2 or 2.5 into a Mk 3 but the airbag wiring is going to be different and the backseats definitely wont fit. Your better off looking for a set from a scrappy but as the car is still relatively new they may be difficult to find.

Its for attaching to the drivers floor mat to stop it sliding around. The Ford ones come with the holes in it to clip it to

#386883 Lack Of Power

They do bog down especially in this hot weather. The air intake feed from under the bonnet is very restrictive. If you buy the plastic feed from under the bonnet and behinfd the grill to the airbox for a 2.0 Auto you will see it provides a larger intake from behind the grill. That combined with a performace replacement panel filter will improve things slightly. Especially on these hot days.

#386716 Key-Fob Issues

Posted by btmaldon on 16 July 2014 - 08:12 PM

I would by the flip key and take the transponder out of the fob that is falling apart and put that one in it. Alternatively buy two and take the chip out of both your current keys. It is pretty simple. I just did my Father in Laws Seat Altea which uses a VAG key obviously but they are the same.

#383658 Pc Died, But From The Ashes Comes

What a beast. I need to start thinking about building a new one. I built the current one about 4 years ago. Got all the parts from Novatech last time but will do some research on parts and specs before I go ahead.
