216 For An Mot And Service

14 January 2015 - 07:12 PM

I'm quite pleased with that. It was an interim service at my local Indy Garage. Their not the cheapest but I trust them.

Car had no advisories and Bill the mechanic complimented me on how good it is.

In Car Video Camera For Less Than 11

04 October 2014 - 05:51 PM

I saw this advert and thought I would give it a try:

At less than £11 I wasn't expecting much. It arrived yesterday so I put in my car today. It comes with a 3m power lead so you can put it anywhere on the windscreen and run the cable and tuck it away and still reach the power socket. Its also got a rechargeable battery, screen suction mounting kit and a USB Lead.

I stuck in a 2gb SD card I had lying around and I was amazed at how good it is for the money. The sound isn't great but what do you expect for this price.

Permasealed The Car

14 June 2014 - 09:32 PM

I have just treated the car to the PermaSeal treatment found here:

Now, I don't believe for a minute that it will last 10 years, however I have used this stuff on my previous 2 cars and have found it good for at least 3 years.

I was offered the Supaguard Treatment for £250 when I bought my last Focus and the one before but knowing I could buy the kit myself for £10 I decided to do it myself. I found the Supaguard Treatment only lasted for 6 months on the paintwork but the wheel treatment and interior guard sprays worked much better. The PermaSeal is far superior in my mind. The only downside is you have to wax and buff the car twice, so is fairly time consuming.

I also sealed the wheels with some Autoglym Wheel Sealer. Never tried this stuff before so I hope it lasts a good while.
