A little embarrassing, but it was 30 years ago.

In Car Video Camera For Less Than 11

04 October 2014 - 05:51 PM

I saw this advert and thought I would give it a try:

At less than £11 I wasn't expecting much. It arrived yesterday so I put in my car today. It comes with a 3m power lead so you can put it anywhere on the windscreen and run the cable and tuck it away and still reach the power socket. Its also got a rechargeable battery, screen suction mounting kit and a USB Lead.

I stuck in a 2gb SD card I had lying around and I was amazed at how good it is for the money. The sound isn't great but what do you expect for this price.

Permasealed The Car

14 June 2014 - 09:32 PM

I have just treated the car to the PermaSeal treatment found here:

Now, I don't believe for a minute that it will last 10 years, however I have used this stuff on my previous 2 cars and have found it good for at least 3 years.

I was offered the Supaguard Treatment for £250 when I bought my last Focus and the one before but knowing I could buy the kit myself for £10 I decided to do it myself. I found the Supaguard Treatment only lasted for 6 months on the paintwork but the wheel treatment and interior guard sprays worked much better. The PermaSeal is far superior in my mind. The only downside is you have to wax and buff the car twice, so is fairly time consuming.

I also sealed the wheels with some Autoglym Wheel Sealer. Never tried this stuff before so I hope it lasts a good while.

Sold My Focus And I've Gone German

16 March 2014 - 11:35 AM

What have I done. I sold my low mileage 11 plate Focus Sport yesterday morning and went and bought a 320i M Sport Coupe in the afternoon.

I'm now having second thoughts because of the possible running costs, run flat tyres etc. You don't get a spare or even a jack and wheel brace. Tyres are £250 each and my insurance has nearly doubled.

Am I mad or what?

Its a 2008 on a 57 plate but with only 37k miles on the clock. Full Leather Auto/Semi Auto etc

How Embarrassing. Focus Rolled Into A Transit

02 March 2014 - 05:42 PM

How embarrassing to hear your registration number called out in B&Q's saying its rolled into another vehicle.

Got to the car to find it in the back of a Transit with the handbrake still on. All I can think was as the brakes had cooled down while we were in the store they contracted enough to allow the car to roll.

My front bumper was pushed in where it hit the tow bar on the van but I was able to pop it back out by hand. No noticeable damage to my Focus but one of the rear doors on the van was pushed in.

Who would of thought a Transit would come off worse?
