#394254 Air Vent Louvre

TBH a new air vent is only about £5 on ebay. No-one is going to sell you the silver bit any cheaper as they'll just be left with a vent they can't sell.

Really it's very easy. Just slide a blunt knife in and lever out.

I've done it many times on my S-max - it's held in with friction - nothing else - you won't break anything.

Yes they just lever out - use a blunt butter knife to prise them out of the recesses.

#276050 Driving On Poor Quality Roads: Suggestions?

Err, don't drive over potholes.

IF you think your Smax has issues, you should try my smart roadster.

The alloys are so soft that if you hit a pothole badly the wheels buckle. I have got very good at spotting & avoiding potholes after 3 costly wheel repairs.

There is a how-to on the smax owners club site on how to service the bonet release so it doesn't fail. Mine is a 2006 car but still is on it's orginal bonnet cable.

Tyres - I buy part-worns and they are much cheaper. The rears still look fairly new after 30,000 miles but as brand new fronts cost £150 each and last only about 15,000 miles, I buy good part worns at about £60 each and they last 12,000 miles.

The exhaust is a common issue on the TDCi - my petrol still has it's original exhaust 7 years on and looks very structurally sound.

The badges are a common issue - most go for a gel overlay rather than replacement.

Rear lights don't come on with DRLs. That's the same on most cars.

TBH DRLs are a waste of time - you don't want them any brighter. You'll soon get fed up of people flashing you thinking you have your front fogs on as it is!
