Paint Code Help

07 November 2012 - 12:51 PM

Hi all, I'm wondering where I can find the paint code on a 1997 Ford Fiesta Encore? My dad has recently damaged the tailgate on his and I don't know anything about these cars really. I'm a MG Rover person myself and only know them really, my mum recently replaced her Mk2 Mondeo with a 2003 Rover 25 and loves it.

Well back to the original question? It's the light red colour but that's all I know. Haha.

Cheers in advance.

Contemplating A Fiesta

06 March 2012 - 09:39 PM

Hi all.

I'm looking to upgrade from my 1.6 Rover 25 come renewal time in July. I'm currently torn between the following:
  • Audi A4 (2.0 TDI)
  • BMW 3 Series (E90)
  • MG ZT 2.5 V6 (160)
  • Volvo S40
How ever with the way petrol prices are rocketing up, I will likely be going for something smaller and more efficient than above, preferably petrol. I like the current Ford Fiesta range and would happily settle for one if you can convince me.

I've heard from a few owners that they can develop annoying little rattles? I also saw a thread on this.

What sort of MPG can I expect from 1.25 and 1.4?

Ford Fiesta Encore Brake Light

09 February 2012 - 05:32 PM

Hi all,

My dad has a 1998 1.3 Ford Fiesta Encore in red which he recently damaged the tail gate on by reversing into a trailer at work - D'OH!. He dented it quite badly. We were looking at replacement tailgates and found one with a third brake light which would make a good improvement to the back end of the car, except obviously it doesn't have a third brake light so it would need retrofitting, how hard would it be?

Mk2 Restoration

21 December 2011 - 06:46 PM

I originally posted this thread on mg-rover.org as I'm obviously more active on there as I own a Rover, but I may as well post it up on here too with it being a Ford and I will most likely get more help on here by fellow Ford owners.

I'm planning to restore my parents Mk2 Mondeo to the standards it used to be. It's mainly damage to bumpers, which seems common on these Mk2 Mondeo's, and damage to the rear passenger door. The reason for the restoration is because the car will be used until July when it may be replaced with a Mk3 Mondeo or a smaller Rover 25.

It's a 1998 1.8 Ford Mondeo Verona (though badged LX?) with approx 113k on the clock. It's been a reliable car in the past, passed all but 1 MOT first time, been involved in a front end smash and was repaired, back when insurance companies didn't write cars off for slight damage. It has had HGF 3 times though which I find quite funny as my dad says Rover's are unreliable!

Mk3 Mondeo

18 December 2011 - 11:30 AM

My uncle has recently offered me a Mk3 Ford Mondeo. I'm not 100% sure on the age, colour, spec, etc, but all I do know is, it's a 1.8 engine. He's offered it to me for a grand total of 0.00 purely because he owns a garage, had it in with head gasket failure, fixed it but hasn't been able to shift it. I currently drive a 2001 1.6 Rover 25 which I enjoy, but like any car of it's age, it has a few issues which need sorting. I plan to therefore take the Rover off the road and fix it's minor issues whilst using the Mondeo, then once the Rover is fixed, give the Mondeo to my dad to replace his constantly breaking '98 Mk2 Mondeo 1.8 LX.

Just want to know really if there's anything I need to look out for with the 1.8 engine and the Mk3 in particular.
