Handles Snow Very Well

18 March 2013 - 04:28 PM

This thing is awesome in the snow.  It snowed about 6 inches on Friday, three more inches last night and it's still coming down today.

As I mentioned before I traded an F-150 XLT 4x4 with Off-Road package in to get this car - and it absolutely kicks the F-150's butt in the snow.

Sunroof / Moonroof "vent"

13 March 2013 - 01:44 PM

I've tried asking this question on american Escape forums and haven't had a reply yet -

How far does the moonroof / sunroof open in "vent" mode (Where the glass pops up instead of sliding back).  Mine appears to only open about halfway, then if I push close it will open all the way and then shut.  Is that normal?

Probably Getting A Focus

05 March 2013 - 08:05 PM

So I finally realized that paying the gas, insurance, and car payments on a full size 4x4 off-road pickup truck is probably not the smartest thing in the world.  Sure, a twin turbo, 365 HP V-6 with 420 lb-ft of torque is *FUN* to drive, but $500 a month for gas is getting very old.  Do I really *need* the ability to hook up to a 11,000 pound flatbed trailer?  I don't even have a trailer!

I will miss the 4x4 Offroad in the winter though.

I'm thinking of getting this Focus - (Or the same model / options in a different color)

I'd go for the 5 speed but I can't find one in stock at any dealer - you get remote start for free with the auto and I guess that's a big selling point.

F-150 Actually Being Used

30 May 2012 - 11:31 PM

I got a new F-150 last March, and in typical american fashion, I have been using it for a daily driver and almost never hauled anything with it.

So I thought I'd post a picture of the truck actually doing some work!

I added up the weight, this flatbed trailer and Ford 3000 gasoline tractor weigh over 10,000 pounds -

This tower lift is one of the lighter things I've abused the truck with, only 1900 pounds (But it was the heaviest thing I've ever put in the box)

This camper is a 26' model with shower, toilet, hot and cold water, and holding tanks - weighs about 7500 pounds
