Lifting Paint

13 April 2015 - 05:53 PM

Hey guys,

Anyone had an issue with rust/lifting/peeling paint, on the left and right edges of the rear boot plastic trim (the one containing the handle and number plate lights)?

Wondered if this was included in the Ford corrosion guarantee or not (Cars always been serviced by Ford approved dealers) - I imagine water gets held next to the paint by this piece!

Center Console Switch Blank

28 March 2015 - 09:04 PM

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a center console switch blank for my Focus mk2.5 (2009) - I want to place a switch here for the front parking sensors and another project. (The blanks to the sides of the windscreen/rear window heaters).

Anyone know of any stock anywhere (or what they're actually called / finis number?)

Ignition Switched Supply... In The Boot?

05 February 2015 - 01:52 AM

Hey guys,

Anyone know of an ignition switched supply in the boot?

I've had a look at the wiring diagram, and apart from the parking sensor module (which i'm 99.9999% sure won't be fitted to my Focus, as although I have XVision sensors they're aftermarket), I cannot seem to see an ignition switched supply to supply my rear cam.

If there isn't one, i'll just run another cable from my cigar lighter socket instead, but would save the long wire run!

Ford Harness Connectors

07 December 2014 - 06:31 PM

Hey guys,

Got a project in mind, now that the cold weather has started properly!

Are the harness connectors ford use a custom connector or standard ones you can buy from anywhere? Alternatively does anyone know if the focus 2.5 ignition harness can be bought separately?

I'm looking at modifying the ignition barrel connector to allow "key out running" but not willing to just splice cables into the existing harness. (Handbrake off, clutch in, or brake pressed will kill engine).

Winter Tyres

24 November 2014 - 06:26 PM

Hey all,

With cold temps starting to reappear, and reports of cars starting to end up in ditches, i've come to a small minefield.... do I put winter tyres on my focus?

I've got about a 35 mile round trip to work, and occasionally do a 100 mile round trip to family, so average 240 miles a week.

Winter 2012 I had my Corsa, which was fantastic on snow even with budget summer tyres. Obviously it had a smaller tyre width/diameter to the Focus. It got me 60 miles along gritted slushy motorways and fresh/compacted ungritted country roads with only a couple of hairy moments (No ABS/Traction), and was otherwise fantastic in the cold snow/ice. Even started on a hill from standstill after stopping to help someone who'd gone off the road.

Question is, would you?
