#531669 New Fuel Pump - Black Edition, 3500 Miles

Posted by JackieR on 14 October 2015 - 10:21 AM

Hi, yes, I did.  I had to get a new fuel pump when the car was only months old and I had done less miles than you.

I still hear it, but it's nothing like it was when it was at it's worst.  It was all done under warranty tho so no problem.  The mechanic came out for a wee run with me and he agreed that it was too noisy and should be replaced.

#399317 Ford Fiesta Ecoboost Hot Magenta Or Candy Blue?

Posted by JackieR on 19 August 2014 - 07:45 AM

Call me biased, but Candy Blue. Honestly, you won't regret it. I had the same decision to make. When I went to see about trading in my Black Mk7 there was a Candy Blue one sitting there and I just fell in love. The colour actually changes depending on the light. I'm seeing more and more on the road now, and when I see one out and about, it just stands out from the other black, white, grey cars on the road. LOVE IT !!!!

Maybe someone could confirm but think they would fit.

If they do I can always do it for you if you want?

I should imagine they will .... I don't think the windows have changed, or at least I hope not !!!   That would be affa good of ye, thank you.  I can only hope that it makes a difference to the amount of drips I get in !!!   Cheers Gary.

I really like the car when not going up hill and my wife thinks its great,so with a bit of luck in a few months I might tempt her to take it and I can get myself something better.....I will start on convincing her from today lol

That's a really good idea .... you know what us women are like ...  try and get her to think it's HER idea that you get something else, and that's bound to work !!   We like when WE come up with a great idea !!!!    LOL ;)

I hope you get some satisfaction from putting it in to be looked at, but in all honesty, I think you'll find that that's just the engine i'm afraid.

On the upside .... you have had a fair few good recommendations on the 1.0 Ecoboost for when/if you change !   I Love mine I must confess.  It's like night and day to the 1.25, which is a pity, coz it was a lovely Panther Black one and it looked really good.

Good luck with the garage tho.   :)

I had the 1.25 (an 11 Reg), and I also went down from the ZetecS, and I found the same as you.  It's ok once up to speed, and goes along very nicely, but going up a steep hill was embarassing at times !!  I would avoid them if I possibly could.  I also found that putting your foot hard down did no good.  When I was going up a long, steadily climbing hill, then I found that if I eased my foot up a wee bit, it picked up speed (strangely enough !), but nothing but going down gears helps on a steep hill i'm afraid.

Anyway, I was very nervous at the thought of a 1.0 litre Fiesta after my 1.25 experience, but I have to say, the new engine is FAR superior, and I love it.   Might be a plan to hold on to your 1.25 for a year or so and then change to the new EcoBoost engine.  I just love driving it and hills aren't an issue now !!

Good luck with it, and i'm sure that once you are more used to your car you will like it a bit better.  :)

Hey Jackie

Was off to circuit training this morning and saw your car in your drive.

Nice colour  :)

Glad you like it.  I love it now, I must admit.  I was going through Culter on Saturday, the sun was shining and I passed one going the other direction !   It was a 5 door tho.  Saw the passenger pointing.  Guess it's not very common ..... YET !!!   Hope it stays quite rare and not everyone is as daft as me and will pay the extra money for a colour !!!!!!!

Just filling in the paperwork to get my own plate on it, so i'll get that sent away today.

I've never had problems with mirrors not folding out.

You don't live in the frozen North east of Scotland !!!!   Trust me, sometimes in Winter we can barely see the car, never mind the wing mirrors !!!!    ;)

I use Showroom Shine as well.  I currently have a Panther Black Fiesta, but have a Candy Blue on on order for 1st September.   Love using Showroom Shine.  The car always looks amazing.  I agree tho that is can get into all the nooks & crannies when you actually spray it, but cotton buds soon sort that out !!!   Hoping it keeps the Candy Blue looking as good as it does the black !
