Quick one, what do I use to apply the RMT? A foam applicator or microfibre? And do you buff it off with a microfibre? Seen a box of Autoglym microfibres on I4D and thinking of using those?
Any good microfiber cloth will be fine. Buff off with the same cloth, just remember to keep turning it. As for what brand of cloth, it don't really matter to be honest. Long as its a soft cloth what wont cause damage, it will be fine. If your going to order from I4D, don't forget the discount code they have.
Thanks mate, I never knew RM was like a quick wax/ sealant haha. Is the Autoglym going to be quicker to apply at all? Also do you have to avoid getting the RMT onto the plastic trim?
I don't think Autoglym would be any quicker or slower. As all you need to do is spray on the car and buff off, so i don't think any more time would be spent with RMT.
A sealant on plastic trim will help, not harm it. By applying it over plastic trim you are protecting it, so you won't have any issues with that. RMT is also great on side windows! But don't ever apply it to the front or rear windows as it will smear like hell.
Is that good? Not a bad price and seems you spray then wipe it in then wipe it off. Do you do that on a wet car or a dry car? It seems the tropical version is easier to use as it's less fussy about the temperature and sun etc. I think this with my Dodo Juice wash would be good? Also how frequently do you have to use it?
RTM is best applied to a clean and dry bodywork. You will find it will last between 1 and 2 months before you need to reapply the product. One spray should cover a very large area, so be sure not to over use the product otherwise it will smear.
Rather than using a spray on wax, have you thought about a spray sealant? They work much in the same way, but last far longer. Dodo's Red Mist tropical is one of the best i've come across. The beading and gloss from Red mist is amazing, well worth a try if your unsure of other products.
Another sealant to look at is dodo's acrylic spritz. It works much like Red Mist, but lasts upto 3 times longer.
It's all down to what the buyer wants I guess. For me, a every day car needs some gadgets to make your life that little bit better. If you had the cash spare to have a weekend only car, or a track day car - then strip it out to be as fun as possible.
We can only do 70 mph on the UK roads (legally ) so is there much need to strip out a road going car you would use every day? I don't think so.
