#345333 Horrible Start To A Weekend

Just got your information,,,,,, every tyre has a 4 digit code on the sidewall, this is how you work out when a tyre was made,,, example, it will say something like 2713, meaning it was made in the 27th week of 2013. All tyres have this, so you could check that out. But as I stated earlier in this post, you'd be fighting a losing battle with this. Best just forget it and move on. And be thankful you are ok :-)

#340437 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Tdci Zetec Injector Seals

Posted by Mike77 on 09 March 2014 - 01:37 AM

I think if your referring to the mk7 fiesta 1.6tdci, it's fairly reliable. Had mine nearly a year now and it's not missed a beat (touch wood). The earlier ones had trouble with turbos blowing due to carbonised oil from dodgy injectors. But this was rectified by the introduction of the newer shape. Others may have other ideas, but from my point of view, mines been fine up to now.

News to me,,,, I've read they both suffered in one way or another ? Mine was leaking when I got the car, but was fixed by simply tightening the two bolts that hold the injector in place... DON'T OVERTIGHTEN THOUGH.

Don't think all that would get you anywhere near 150bhp to be honest. Think you'd need to het into the internals to reach that kind of figure. Your looking for a gain of over 60bhp !!!

There is a danger of it letting fumes into the cabin,,, prob best to leave it until you get it sorted.

#316312 "window Look" Or Not?

Leave it as is, no point in trying to make it look like a car, looks sweet as it is.

Mine can be adjusted with the switch inside the car, and it's quite noticeable when doing so. Mine had the projectors in as standard though ?

I got the 35w ones, they are sweet, no probe, never been flashed. Look much more legal behind projectors. Mine were only 25 quid off eBay. Paying more doesn't always mean better equipment.

#309374 Tdci's Without A Dpf

Posted by Mike77 on 06 December 2013 - 05:30 PM

Yes, correct advice there, no DPF's pre 2010 (in this country) mine is a 58plate 1.6tdci, and tax is £20 for the year :-)
